The necessary ingredients to whip up these devilishly good cookies are probably already in your kitchen. You will need butter, cream cheese, brown sugar, eggs, flour, corn starch, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, vanilla extract, and of course, chocolate chips. Double Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 ounces block-style cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder optional
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup black or Dutch cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces chopped dark chocolate plus extra for topping if desired

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line your baking sheets with parchment or a silicone liner.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese and brown sugar. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla and espresso powder (if using) and add to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing well.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, corn starch, baking soda and salt. Fold into the butter mixture, along whit your chopped chocolate or chocolate chips, adding any additional add-ins as preferred.
  • Using either a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, portion out golf ball sized pieces of dough. If desired, top with additional chocolate. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until cookie looks form around the edges.
