Copycat Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Is there a living soul on the planet who doesn’t love these things?
When I was a kid, going to Red Lobster was considered a big deal. We got all dressed up and were expected to be on our best behavior. Red Lobster was considered fine dining at our house. But honestly, I don’t remember these biscuits at all. I remember the big tanks of lobsters in the lobby, and I remember the white table cloths, and I remember the popcorn shrimp, but I don’t think I had one of these biscuits until we took our own kids to Red Lobster when they were little. (Turns out, the biscuits weren’t rolled out until the 90’s, which explains why I distinctly remember hush puppies being served instead.)
But oh, these biscuits… They are perfection. My son begs me to make them on an almost weekly basis. They are light, garlicky, cheesy and it’s way too easy to eat more than you intended.

Red Lobster biscuits are delicious! I’m kind of surprised the recipe doesn’t call for garlic powder.

Nevermind! I see it in the instructions. How much do you use?

Whoops…can’t believe I left the garlic out of the ingredients! Thanks for catching that! I use half a teaspoon, but you could increase that if you like a more garlicky flavor. I’ve even been known to add a little garlic to the melted butter before brushing it on the biscuits. And yes, Red Lobster biscuits are amazing! 🙂
